![]() The lady refused even when I told her it was unfair. I argued that I should be charged after I return the vehicle since it was going to be impossible to know how much I would accumulate in toll charges. Plus they charge me $9.99 per day for toll. That defies logic and made absolutely no sense to give such a deep discount just because you want to be “nice”. The way I determined that I was overcharged is because they said the additional rental was $100.00 per day but they will give it to me for $35.00 per day. I didn’t like that I was overcharged for upgrading. If you continue to accept reservations for cars at this location, you will continue to get customer complaints, refund demands, and disputed credit card transactions.Īug 2023 The upgraded vehicle was large enough for my family. I have rented cars countless times in my life and I have never experienced anything like I have with dollar/thrifty. This is clearly something that happens frequently, as all of the associates were combative and appeared to be prepared for an issue with every guest that approached. This company takes your money with a deposit and then refuses to honor their commitments or refunds. The person before me was told they can’t pick up their reserved car (which they also paid in advance for) because they didn’t have a plane ticket departing from their drop off location. I left this location questioning if they ever had a rental available for me in the first place, and if they were just trying to turn me away. I have Used the magnetic strip on my credit card at with other vendors before and after the interaction. They refused to type the numbers in manually, use my chip, use another card, or use Apple Pay. I was told that I couldn’t pick up my car (even though I paid in advance) because the magnetic strip on my credit card wouldnt work in their broken machine. Three people in front of me in line were also unsuccessful in getting the company to honor their reservation. Regret this experience probably like a tourist regrets picking up a girl in a shady Bangkok bar because at the end he doesn’t get what he expected and paid dearly for his mistake!! Should have stuck with them but chose FOX for the $80 savings but at the end I paid over $200 more that I would have with other companies. Just under a month before this rental, I rented from Alamo on sight at airport and they charged me what the website price was. Overall, I chose FOX over others for a supposed savings of around $80. Took the car for overpriced rental and an additional $200 deposit which is still to be refunded. They charged me over a hundred dollars over the quoted price on Kayak because the person claimed that even though I had chosen to use the insurance provided by my credit card specifically for car rentals, the “system” added the insurance coverage automatically and it was “take it or leave it” and after a 12 hour flight, customs, immigration a HOT shuttle to FOX and a a wait in line for over an hour, the choice presented by the rude customer “service” was just Insult added to Injury. Waited over an hour because their system had collapsed. Pros: The car model was very economic with mileage/gas.Ĭons: The front desk at pickup was terrible.

Still, Geesin was the obvious choice to compose the score. We all listened to it and thought, ‘Oh, that’s quite nice…’ But we all thought the same thing, which was that it sounds like a theme from some awful western. “I think it’s significant that they all fell asleep,” he grumbled. Geesin also preferred opera to most rock’n’roll, and he took Mason, Gilmour and keyboard player Rick Wright to hear Wagner’s Parsifal at Covent Garden. “I called it ‘astral wanderings’,” he said. And when he did hear some, he wasn’t impressed. Geesin wasn’t familiar with Floyd’s music. Nick Mason met Geesin through a mutual friend, the Rolling Stones’ tour manager Sam Jonas Cutler. By 1970 he was composing TV soundtracks in his basement flat/studio in Notting Hill. Geesin had started his career in a jazz band in the early 60s. The company insisted this tape was not to be spliced and used for edits, meaning Waters and Mason recorded the backing track for their new composition in one 23.44-minute take. EMI had just installed state-of-the-art eight-track recorders that used a specific one-inch tape. Instead, Pink Floyd entered EMI’s Abbey Road studios in early March to record their new work. “It’s rather Yellow Submarine-ish, about a little boy in space.”īut Waters never mentioned Rollo again. “We’re going to do the music for an Alan Aldridge TV cartoon series called Rollo,” Waters announced in Melody Maker.
